Fabio Capello last night promised David Beckham the chance to equal Bobby Moore's England record - and said it was all thanks to AC Milan.
Beckham will equal Moore's 108-cap record for an outfield player if he makes an appearance against Spain in Seville next month.
And England coach Capello, speaking on an Italian TV chat show, said: "I personally advised Silvio Berlusconi to take him on board.

"Tactically David is very strong and he is a serious professional. Of course he doesn't have the sprinting speed he used to have, but tactically he is very clever and can still have a role in midfield for us."
