Real Madrid and Portugal defender Pepe has re-ignited the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga by claiming that the move will happen - and sooner rather than later.
Speaking in the Spanish press, Pepe said: "I expect to be able to play with Cristiano at Madrid some day and I expect it to be soon.
"It is he who must decide. He has to choose Madrid, that is for sure, and I think that the Real Madrid executives want him.
"I hope that things go well. Cristiano already clarified his desire to come to Madrid, and it could not be, so we must hope."

Pepe also made reference to Ronaldo's mother Dolores and her long-standing desire to see her son play at the Bernabeu:
"Both his mother and all his family as well as himself have made it clear that their dream is to play for Real Madrid.
"It is a dream that his mother has and a dream that he has too. Now we will see what happens."
Don't hold your breath, mind.
