David Moyes Wants Referees to be Fairer in Merseyside Derby

David Moyes believes his Everton side rarely receive fair treatment from referees in the Merseyside derby.

Everton host Liverpool in an FA Cup fourth-round replay tonight with an angry Moyes pleading for balance from match official Alan Wiley.

In recent years, Everton have suffered some harsh calls, with penalties denied and bad challenges unpunished. But the blue side of Merseyside are most annoyed by Javier Mascherano, who tried to get Tim Cahill sent off in the first tie with theatrical diving then by waving an imaginary card.

Moyes said: "We feel we're not just playing Liverpool but an extra man as well. We've had a hell of a bad run of decisions in derby games.

"We're wholehearted but when players wave their hands suggesting cards, it's hard."
