LONDON - Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp said calling up his injury-plagued captain Ledley King to England's squad for Saturday's friendly with Slovakia and next week's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine was "mad" and "pointless".
King has a long-standing knee problem that limits his training and means he can play only one game a week.
