Manchester United Seek Foreign Office Advice over Pre-Season Tour to Indonesia

Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Roone

Manchester United have turned to the Foreign Office for advice over fears they could be targeted by terrorists on their pre-season tour to Indonesia.

United are set to face an All-Star team in Jakarta on July 24 as part of a four-game trip to the Far East that will also see them visit China, Seoul and Singapore.

It will be the first time the European champions have visited Indonesia, the target of several terrorist outrages in recent years.

A United insider said: "As with all trips abroad we take guidance from the Foreign Office.

"At the moment there is no terror alert in place regarding Indonesia and if that stays the same we will go to Jakarta as planned."
