The Finnish international stretched ankle ligaments in Saturday's 4-0 defeat of VfB Stuttgart to join midfielder Daniel Jensen, who fractured his nasal bone during the first leg, on the sidelines. Clemens Fritz (flu) and the suspended Frank Baumann are also unavailable in midweek. There was some cheer for coach Thomas Schaaf, however, as German international centre-back Per Mertesacker declared himself fit after missing those two victories through illness. "I feel really good again and will fly to France," he said.
