Everton and Australia midfielder Tim Cahill has asserted that he would never consider swapping the blue half of Merseyside for the red, even if Liverpool offered silly money.
Whilst on international duty with the Socceroos last week, Cahill was apparently asked by The Sydney Morning Herald whether he would ever think about moving to the Toffees' city rivals. According to Everton's official website, his reply was definitive.
"Never. Never, never [would I join Liverpool]," he stated. "No money in this world could convince me to play for Liverpool.
"That's not a lack of respect for Liverpool supporters or the Football Club. It's respect for the Everton supporters.
"You just can't do that. It goes against everything that I stand for. No chance."

Cahill moved to Goodison Park from Millwall five years ago, and has developed rapidly, becoming an all-action utility forward who can play almost anywhere in front of the defense. Thirty-six goals have also helped make him a real terrace favorite amongst Toffees fans, and he hopes that his feeling for the club echoes their own.
"Every time I score, the passion comes out and I try to relay that back to the fans and to the players and the staff at how grateful I am to be playing for such a good club," he added.
"I am part of the furniture at Everton but I don't take it for granted.
"I've got a chance of the FA Cup. I've got a lot of years left at Everton and hopefully I can make it longer, but it depends what the club thinks of you."
