Manchester United received a huge boost ahead of the Saturday's clash with Liverpool when Cristiano Ronaldo insisted he will stay at Old Trafford next season.

Last summer was dominated by Real Madrid trying to lure him to the Bernabeu. But Liverpool's destruction this week of t he Spanish champions, coached by former Spurs boss Juande Ramos, showed they are some way off challenging for the big European honours again.
With four English teams reaching the last eight of the Champions League, it also showed the Premier League is the place to be. The 23- year-old promised he was here to stay. "I feel very happy where I am now. I like to do what I do, it's my dream and this is my life.

And Ronaldo claimed Sir Alex Ferguson's side were stronger this season.
"We are in a good way," he told Setanta Sports. "We are top of the league, in the Champions League and we are in all competitions.
"The team is more mature, more experienced and when you go to the pitch you know what you are going to do and this is why we have a good team."
