Harry Redknapp is making a £7million move for Inter Milan's Argentine hard man Nicolas Burdisso - and wants to tie up the deal in the next 24 hours.
Spurs hope to agree a fee with the Serie A leaders for the defender, watched by Redknapp on a recent spying trip.
Burdisso, 28, may be phased out in the next year or so at Inter and a long-term deal at White Hart Lane may appeal.
The tough-tackling centre-back can also fill in at right-back or in midfield, making him ideal for Redknapp who is struggling with injury worries.
