Juventus Confirm Negotiations With Villarreal For Giuseppe Rossi

The New-Jersey born striker could be making his move back to Italy in the near future.

Villareal striker Giuseppe Rossi has had plenty of success in Spain, but has not hidden his desire to return to Italy over the past month.

The 22-year-old has impressed for the Italian national team at the Confederations Cup, scoring two goals in a substitute appearance against the United States, prompting a sensational attack from Spanish newspaper AS, declaring him a 'traitor.'

According to Sky Sport 24, Juventus have confirmed that sporting director Alessio Secco is meeting with Villarreal officials to negotiate a transfer for the former Manchester United and Parma starlet.

The Spanish club have asked for between €15-18 million, plus striker David Trezeguet in exchange.

The Frenchman has been knocked down the pecking order this season in Turin, having suffered from poor form and injury in 2008-09, so the move could potentially suit both players.

Overall, Rossi scored 15 goals in all competitions for the Yellow Submarines this past season.
