Ben Foster's amazing season will continue today with his selection for the England squad.

The 25-year-old began the campaign as Manchester United's third choice goalkeeper.

After recovering from injury he's impressively pressed his case to succeed Edwin van der Sar as No.1 and has done enough to win a call-up from Fabio Capello.

Foster is an established Under-21 international and has been rated one of England's best young keepers for a long time.

Ex-United and England No.1 Gary Bailey thinks Foster will beat Robert Kuszczak in the race for Van der Sar's shirt.

Bailey said: "Edwin has had an unbelievable run, but it's purely the motivation of playing for United that keeps him going.

"I think he will come under big pressure from Foster next season.

"Ben has almost everything a goalkeeper needs - he's big, tall and agile.

"I think he is reaching an age where he's ready to take Edwin's place."
