Luyindula Backing PSG to Prevail

Despite his team's failure to find the back of the net in the home leg of their UEFA Cup quarter-final tie with FC Dynamo Kyiv, striker Péguy Luyindula feels Paris Saint-Germain FC have every chance of booking a last-four berth in the Ukrainian capital on Thursday.

'We deserved better'
The Ligue 1 outfit were the only home side unable to secure an advantage in the opening round of games, their overall superiority in terms of chances created counting for little as the final whistle sounded on a goalless draw at the Parc des Princes. "We could have done better and we deserved better, but that's how football is," said Luyindula. "It was obviously not the best result because we wanted to win, but the essential thing was we didn't concede an away goal which can prove so costly. We're still very much in the tie."

PSG confidence
Paul Le Guen's men, who also failed to score in Sunday's goalless draw at LOSC Lille Métropole, can ill afford a similarly blunt performance at the Valeri Lobanovskiy Stadium so it is just as well that their French international forward saw enough in the first leg to suggest Dynamo can be beaten. "We were able to trouble them and that's why we remain confident," explained Luyindula. "We'll go there thinking we can score at any moment. We'll have to be strong and pick up an impressive result away from home, but if you want to reach a final you have to get great results in each round. You have to win and keep winning, and winning is never easy at this level."

Braga template
Spurring the French club on will be memories of their Round of 16 tie against SC Braga, when they followed up a goalless draw on home soil with a 1-0 victory in Portugal. "Dynamo are a good team and it's going to be an open game, but we'll just have to be strong defensively and try to grab a goal, like we did against Braga," added centre-back Sammy Traoré. "We know it's going to be difficult over there. They'll be looking to score but we'll do everything we can to make sure we don't concede and I think we'll get chances of our own."
