Ashley Cole has been arrested and issued with a fixed penalty notice after a drunken confrontation with police in the early hours of this morning.
Cheryl Cole's England and Chelsea footballer husband was detained after swearing at officers after a night drinking at The Collection nightclub in London's posh South Kensington.
According to reports, the 28-year-old star launched into a four-letter tirade at uniformed police and refused to tone down his language.
He was taken away in handcuffs in a police and left to sober up for a few hours, before he was slapped with an £80 fine.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police told Mirror.co.uk: "At 02.15 a man was arrested in Brompton Road, SW1, on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. He was taken to a central London police station and later issued with a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disordely and was released at 05.37."

The incident is bound to infuriate his Girls Aloud and X Factor wife Cheryl, who's currently out of mobile phone range as she climbs Mount Killimanjaro for Comic Relief.
The star is with fellow celebrities bandmate Kimberley Walsh, Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles, Boyzone's Ronan Keating, Take That's Gary Barlow and Fearne Cotton, who has collapsed with altitude sickness.
They're currently on the fourth day of their gruelling climb and are 16,000ft up the 19,340ft mountain.
Cheryl, 25, said today of the trek: "The fun is over. This is unquestionably the hardest thing I have ever done."
Cheryl has only recently been seen out in public again with Ashley after he cheated on her last year following a drunken night out with hairdresser Aimee Walton.
However, she forgive him and took him back - though she admitted it was touch and go for their relationship for sometime after the revelations.
