Striker Hélder Postiga will miss both legs of Sporting Clube de Portugal's UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie against FC Bayern München after spraining his left knee in Saturday's victory against SL Benfica.

Injury concerns
The 26-year-old Portuguese international did not train on Monday after limping off midway through the first half of Saturday's 3-2 win and the Lisbon club announced he would be out "for at least three weeks". The injury sidelines Postiga for Wednesday's first leg against the German champions at the Estádio José Alvalade as well as the return on 10 March. He will also sit out Saturday's trip to Liga leaders FC Porto, his former side. Should coach Paulo Bento deploy two strikers in his usual 4-4-2 formation against Bayern, the in-form Derlei, who scored against Benfica, should come in to partner Liedson. Sporting also confirmed that Rui Patrício, Miguel Veloso and Adrien Silva would be unavailable to face Bayern on Wednesday because of injury.
