Sir Alex Ferguson wants Jose Mourinho back in the Premier League – because he believes The Special One is good for English football.
Ferguson goes head-to-head with his old Chelsea and Porto rival when Manchester United travel to the San Siro to face Mourinho’s Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.
And the United boss paid tribute to the outspoken Portuguese coach by hailing Mourinho for his contribution to the English game during a three-year spell at Stamford Bridge that realised two championships, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
Ferguson said: “I got on well with Jose and when he left Chelsea it was a big loss to the English game.
“Would I like to see him back? Yes, but he had better hurry up because I don’t have that much time left!

“Jose has suggested himself that he wants to come back to England - and I for one would definitely welcome him back.
“Maybe he will end up back at Chelsea, you never know.
“I enjoyed watching his interviews on television. He was so good, even his press conferences ended up becoming all-ticket. He was cocky and he was confident – and he was very good for our game because he is a real character.
“Jose has been over to see us play a few times recently and he came to see me for a drink after we played Chelsea - and he was in great form. You can’t deny the man’s success.”
