Inter starlet Davide Santon will take part in his first international tournament, as Italy coach Marcello Lippi has included him in the squad for the Confederations Cup.
Italy coach Marcello Lippi has decided to add young Inter full-back Davide Santon to his squad for the Confederations Cup. The coach announced his list of players for the tournament to Sky Sport Italia.
The 18-year-old raised eyebrows after managing to win a place in the Italian champions' starting line-up at the expense of Brazilian star Maxwell. Recently, Lippi also included Santon in his list of players for the friendly on Saturday against Northern Ireland.
The World Cup winning coach announced two lists a week ago, the first a list including many debutantes who would only be sure of participating in the friendly, the second one containing more established international players who were guaranteed to take part in the Confederations Cup.

This second list was made up of only 13 players, however, to which ten more from the previous list would be added for the tournament in South Africa. Santon is one of those lucky ten. Here is the full list:
Goalkeepers: Amelia, Buffon, De Sanctis
Defenders: Cannavaro, Chiellini, Zambrotta, Dossena, Legrottaglie, Gamberini, Grosso, Santon
Midfielders: Camoranesi, De Rossi, Pirlo, Gattuso, Montolivo, Palombo
Forwards: Gilardino, Iaquinta, Pepe, Quagliarella, Toni, Rossi
