Hiddink: Barcelona Can Replace Rafa Marquez And Puyol

The Catalans may well be without two of their key defenders, but they have plenty of players able to step in, according to the Blues boss.

Guus Hiddink believes that Barcelona will have few problems replacing Rafael Marquez and Carles Puyol for the game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The Blaugrana will be without the defensive duo as they travel to London after the Mexican suffered a knee injury in the first leg and the Catalan club's captain is suspended.

Barca are now expected to consider moving Eric Abidal into the middle and playing either Sylvinho or Martin Caceres at full-back, but whatever Pepe Guardiola does, Hiddink does not think it will effect them much.

"They can replace, rather easily, the two players," The Daily Mail quote the Chelsea manager as saying. "If you see what happened with Marquez, it was nothing to do with Chelsea.

"Normally, some like to create an atmosphere of: 'Look, injured players, the opposition must be at fault'.

"But they are well equipped, not just in their way of playing but also in their double positioning in many positions in the team.

"They can comfortably bring up a team which is able to play well. It won't make a huge difference."
