Rafa Benitez says No Amount of Money will Force Him to Sell Dirk Kuyt

For Rafael Benitez, this could be the summer of the long knives, given his desire to sell players to raise transfer funds.

But along with Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres, there is another untouchable name within his Anfield squad who will not be sold at any price.

Benitez has already said he can never say never if he is offered the right money, even for Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano.

And Ryan Babel, Andrea Dossena, Philipp Degen, Andriy Voronin, Sebastien Leto, Charles Itandje, Diego Cavalieri, Jack Hobbs and Paul Anderson could raise around £40million.

But for Dirk Kuyt, the Spaniard insists there is no amount of cash that could prise him away from Anfield.

"Someone wrote recently that Dirk is Mr Duracell, and that's a great description for him because of the way he plays," said Benitez. "He is always on the go. He is like that Duracell bunny for his incredible energy.

"This year he has been outstanding for us."
