Kolo Toure Believes United Taught Arsenal A Lesson

The Gunners defender claims his side were dealt a footballing lesson.

Patrice Evra's immediate post-match thoughts were that Arsenal versus Manchester United in the Champions League semi-final was like 11 boys against 11 men, but Kolo Toure believes Arsene Wenger's young guns will bounce back stronger than ever.

The Ivorian international also opined that the north Londoners were handed a footballing lesson by Sir Alex Ferguson's United side as Arsenal were continuously found-out by the potency of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney in attack.

"We are not far behind those teams," he is quoted as remarking to The Herald. "Nobody was expecting a lot for us this season and we showed great spirit and we are really proud of what we have done.

"At the moment we just need to concentrate and try to be on top when we play those good teams. We want to win and we will try to come back and be strong. The only thing we can do at the minute is to just keep players, and if we can bring some more that would be fantastic.

"The spirit is good and we hope we are going to stick together and fight together again next season."

Toure believes that the club will carry on improving with age, and that an influx of trophies will don the cabinets at Ashburton Grove as soon as they win the first.

"When you win trophies it becomes like a habit for you," he said.

"This time we did not win anything, but when we get the first trophy, you will see more from Arsenal."
